As part of its corporate sustainability strategy and commitment to preserving the environment in the Kingdom and extending its initiative to contribute to enabling the circular economy, promoting green technology, and reducing carbon emissions, "Zain Saudi Arabia" has signed a strategic partnership with the "Ertiqa" Association. This partnership aims to launch the second phase of the electronic waste management campaign and to rehabilitate or recycle electronic waste. Through this partnership, the efforts of "Zain Saudi Arabia" and "Ertiqa" will unite to attract and enhance investment in the recycling sector and the treatment and reduction of electronic waste by recycling over 5000+ electronic devices. This contributes to reducing carbon emissions and improving economic efficiency in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and in alignment with the "Green Saudi" initiative launched by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Omar bin Khaled Al-Shibani, Executive Director of the "Ertiqa" Association, stated: "The association aims to build close cooperation with the private sector to support the circular economy through sustainability, reducing pollution, and attracting local and international investments towards the recycling sector." He emphasized, "Our partnership with Zain Saudi Arabia, as a leading provider of communications and digital services, will support achieving our goal, especially in a vital sector like telecommunications. Recycling electronic waste offers significant opportunities not only in terms of sustainability but also in business by exporting recycling products to many foreign markets."

Commenting on this cooperation, Iman bint Abdullah Al-Saidi, Executive Vice President for Corporate Communications at "Zain Saudi Arabia," said: "At Zain Saudi Arabia, we operate according to a strategy aimed at reducing carbon emissions by adopting best global practices that support national efforts to achieve comprehensive sustainability and the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to reduce carbon emissions by more than 278 million tons annually by 2030, aiming to achieve net-zero emissions by 2060. Through our strategic partnership with 'Ertiqa,' we will support the concept of recycling electronic devices and rehabilitating them for use by various entities to promote the circular economy and spread environmental awareness that enhances the culture of sustainability and resource conservation. This also coincides with our keenness to contribute significantly to national efforts to achieve sustainability by supporting and participating in many related initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
