Governor of Eastern Province Sponsors Inauguration of Al Fozan Academy at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals

Under the patronage of the Governor of the Eastern Province His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Al Fozan Academy for the Development of Non-Profit Institutions will celebrate the inauguration of its headquarters at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals on Tuesday.

The academy, which seeks to train leaders of non-profit institutions using international best practices, was established in response to an urgent need for the professional development of non-profit leadership. It is also an initiative of the Center of Excellence for the Development of Non-Profit Institutions at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals and the Al Fozan Social Foundation aimed at serving the non-profit sector using international expertise for the development of several academic programs.

The academy offers specialized training courses and practitioner certificates, as well as advanced diploma programs, executive MBAs for the non-profit sector, and external scholarship programs.

The academy develops partnerships with reputable international universities specialized in the non-profit sector, and it seeks to foster continuous cooperation with major specialists in the third sector. It also follows scientific and applied methodology in building, implementing, and evaluating the offered programs. Furthermore, it seeks international and local accreditations for the programs and ensures that the academic quality standards of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals are applied to them.

The university, represented by the Center of Excellence for the Development of Non-Profit Institutions and the Al Fozan Social Foundation, established a specialized academy to serve this sector by drawing on international expertise to develop several academic programs and support the Ministry’s role in organization, support, and development. The academy also develops several academically accredited programs with international partnerships.

The academy seeks to become a leader in the management of non-profit organizations by building, designing, and implementing professional training excellence programs to develop the leaders and administrators of non-profit organizations in different disciplines. This was followed by the establishment of the executive MBA program for the management of non-profit institutions based on international best practices and a professional model.

The academy will build the capacity of non-profit organizations in the Kingdom by providing an environment for knowledge transfer and the exchange of international, regional, and local expertise, in addition to attracting experts and trainers who are highly experienced in this field.
