Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province Reviews Al-Fozan Academy’s Programs and Developmental Achievements

His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, inaugurated today at Al-Fozan Academy at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals the Volunteer Participation Unit within the Al-Fozan Social Foundation. The platform was launched in accordance with the national standard “Maeen,” with the aim of enhancing the participation of individuals and institutions in volunteer and developmental work, improving the quality of volunteer efforts, and enabling employees of Al-Fozan companies to engage in professional volunteering and develop their skills. 

During his visit, His Highness was briefed on the Academy’s most prominent achievements and its specialized programs aimed at supporting and empowering the nonprofit sector and enhancing the impact of community initiatives. The visit included an introductory tour showcasing the leadership and developmental initiatives implemented by the Academy in recent periods. 

The Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province commended the Academy’s distinguished programs for building national capacities, emphasizing the importance of these efforts in supporting the path of sustainable development and creating an effective community impact. He noted that this work reflects the commitment of the wise leadership—may God protect it—to human development and the empowerment of institutions serving society. 

For his part, Mahmoud Al-Shami, Secretary-General of the Al-Fozan Social Foundation, stated that the launch of the Volunteer Participation Unit reflects the Foundation’s commitment to activating the role of individuals and institutions in community service and maximizing developmental impact. He also presented to His Highness an overview of the projects and training programs implemented by the Academy to qualify workers in the nonprofit sector, in addition to future plans aimed at raising sector efficiency and enhancing its impact.
