“Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveller, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves.”  2:177

This verse from the Holy Quran encapsulates the overall Al Fozan Group philosophy and provides an insight into how the group undertakes philanthropic activities.

Al Fozan is not just about business: an unshakable belief prevails within the group that its member companies, owners and employees are a serious force for good in the societies in which they work. This is best highlighted in the work of the Al Fozan Social Foundation, which has pressed ahead with game-changing social initiatives that are unique in Saudi Arabia today.

AL FOZAN SOCIAL FOUNDATION

For many years the Al Fozan Social Foundation has participated in a wide range of philanthropic initiatives and is presently spearheading eight diverse and sustainable social programmes. So important is the foundation to everyone within the business that all of the group’s activities are focused on ensuring the foundation’s continued success. This commitment is manifest from the funding of the foundation from Al Fozan’s annual profits through to the active involvement of all members of the group.

Tasweer well fence

Numerous deaths occur each year in the desert as unwary travellers fall into disused water wells and caverns. To help avoid such tragedies in the future, the foundation has taken the initiative to fence these dangerous sites securely. The fencing programme has already secured hundreds of wells and caverns and the work will continue until the mission has been completed and there are no more dangerous wells or caverns.
